Stuff They Don't Want You To Know - Loch Ness Monster
Scientists from around the world have scoured Scotland's Loch Ness in an attempt to discover the infamous Loch Ness monster (affectionately known as 'Nessie')
Interesting how some Cryptozoologists think that these types of creatures should only be found in tropical areas, not the cold waters of Scotland. Which is similar to Bigfoot, in that non-human primates are found in tropical and subtropical areas. So for either of these Cryptids to exist in the habitats they are claimed to be in is a stretch.

Loch Ness Monster Allegedly Spotted Off Australia's Magnetic Island
The eyes of the world turned to Magnetic Island, Australia because of reports of a strange object in the seas that some suggest is the Loch Ness Monster -- or a relative.
Beachgoers first sighted what looked like "a distinctive long, curved neck bobbing up and down off the coast" on October 25, International Business Times reported.
Some of the eyewitnesses immediately noticed a resemblance to Scotland's most famous cryptid, Nessie.
Others believe the object is not necessarily the mythical monster and more likely the half-sunken hull of a boat.
A man named David “Crusty” Herron photographed what he is calling "Lost Nessie" from nearly 600 feet away.
“It was bobbing up and down in the water and at first I thought, what’s that? Someone yelled out, ‘It looks like a Loch Ness monster,’" Herron said, according to The Australian. “I've never seen anything like it - it could be anything. We are all wanting to know what it is.
Australian cryptozoologist Rex Gilroy said that "Lost Nessie" is most likely a dragon boat which sunk off the nearby city of Townsville earlier this month.

In Search of Lake Monster Ogopogo (Documentary)
An investigation is launched upon British Columbia's Lake Okanagan using the latest underwater technology to search for evidence of the most documented lake monster known as Ogopogo. Ogopogo or Naitaka (Salish: n'ha-a-itk, "lake demon") is the name given to a cryptid lake monster reported to live in Okanagan Lake, in British Columbia, Canada. Ogopogo has been allegedly seen by First Nations people since the 19th century. The most common description of Ogopogo is a 40 to 50-foot-long (12 to 15 m) sea serpent. British cryptozoologist Karl Shuker has categorized the Ogopogo as a 'many hump' variety of lake monster, and suggested it may be a kind of primitive serpentine whale such as Basilosaurus. In 1926 a sighting is claimed to have occurred at an Okanagan Mission beach. This event was supposedly witnessed by about thirty cars of people who all claimed to have seen the same thing. In 1968 Art Folden filmed what is claimed to be footage of the alleged creature, showing a large wake moving across the water.

Is This a Loch Ness Monster Sighting?
David Elder, an amateur photographer, was attempting to get photos of a swan from a pier at Fort Augustus on the southwest end of Loch Ness when something mysterious caught his eye disturbing the calm waters.
He described it to the UK Mirror as a “solid black object” just under the water that created a wave atop the lake surface. The sighting immediately fueled speculation that this might have been a Loch Ness Monster sighting.
Elder, 50, also took video of the unidentified “sea creature.” Watch:
“Out of the corner of my right eye, I caught site of a black area of water about 15 feet long, which developed into a kind of bow wave,” Elder of East Kilbride told the Mirror.
“I’m convinced this was caused by a solid black object under the water. The water was very still at the time and there were no ripples coming off the wave and no other activity on the water.
“Water was definitely going over something solid and making the wave. It looks like the sort of wave perhaps created by a windsurfing board, but there was nobody on the Loch at the time, no boats, nothing.
“It is something I just can’t explain.”

The Loch Ness Monster: It's Scotland's Fault
The infamous Loch Ness monster often appears, according to legend,
accompanied by earth tremors and swirling bubbles from the Scottish lake
of the same name.
However, at least one researcher believes the shaking ground and bubbles aren't signs of a monster but rather an active fault underlying Loch Ness and other nearby lakes.
Scientific American reports that Italian geologist Luigi Piccardi credits the Great Glen fault system for reported sightings of the legendary beast.
"There are various effects on the surface of the water that can be related to the activity of the fault," Piccardi said in an interview published in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

Loch Ness Monster Insurance
The legendary Loch Ness Monster might have turned 80 this week,
but one overly cautious cruise company isn’t convinced that she’s any
less of a threat. While “Nessie” hasn’t reportedly harmed a soul—or
ship—to date (or actually been proved to exist, for that matter),
Scottish cruise line Jacobite Cruises isn’t taking any chances.
Should the octogenarian lake-lurker turn up crotchety while any of their fleet is in operation, it’ll be smooth financial sailing for them all the same, thanks to their recently purchased $1.5 million insurance policy against any potential damages incurred by Scotland’s storied monster.
